Baltic Amber Experience

Amber has been treasured around the Baltic Sea for thousands of years and Latvia has long been part of the ancient Amber Road that once connected Northern Europe with the Mediterranean. Today Riga offers a unique opportunity to explore this golden stone in a very hands-on way.

During a visit to a traditional amber workshop, participants learn how raw amber becomes jewellery. With guidance from experienced craftsmen, each guest can polish and shape their own small amber piece – a personal souvenir from the Baltic coast.

The workshop ends with a short presentation about amber legends, trade routes and its role in Baltic culture. Guests leave not only with their own handmade piece but also with a deeper understanding of the region’s most famous natural treasure.
